The advantages of installing an in-home boiler

Like any investment, it is important to know the advantages of the product you are purchasing, and this is no different for an in-home boiler system.

When buying a boiler system, it is important to know what you are getting and why you are getting it, especially as boilers have many advantages when compared to furnaces and water heaters.

One of the biggest advantages to having a boiler installed is improved air quality. Forced air furnaces heat homes by blowing warm air out of ductwork. For some, this warm air being blown throughout the home can be dry and uncomfortable.

With a boiler, water is converted into steam and then sent throughout the house via radiators or radiant floor systems, which heated an area by steam. Boiler systems help to keep humidity in the air, which in turn, keeps skin from becoming dry and chapped.

The fans of a forced air system blow dust and other particles throughout your home, whereas a boiler allows the air to remain stagnant. This makes a boiler system ideal for the homes of people with allergies.

Forced air systems push out warm air, which creates a breeze while boiler systems allow heat to be distributed throughout the home without causing a draft.

Another positive of boilers is the lack of noise. Forced air systems are loud when they turn on, sometimes disturbing those in the home. Boilers operate by making very little noise.

Lastly, boilers create a more comfortable heat. Boilers heat your home through radiators, meaning the heat warms the surfaces of your home and then the heat radiates off of them. A forced air system simply warms the air, leaving floors and walls cold.
